Vision & Values

At St Carlo’s Catholic School, Moama, our vision is to inspire a love for learning and a heart for service, guided by Christ’s light.

We are building a school community where faith, compassion, excellence, and belonging shape every child’s journey — spiritually, academically, and socially.

Our Core Values

  • Faith
Deepening our relationship with God through prayer, sacraments, and reflection.

  • Compassion
Living kindness and empathy in all that we do.

  • Community
Building relationships of respect, trust, and collaboration.

  • Excellence
Pursuing curiosity, creativity, and achievement with courage and joy.

Grounded in Catholic Education Wilcannia-Forbes’ Inspiring Horizons Strategic Plan, we strive for coherence, high achievement, and wellbeing for every learner.

The Bishop’s Charter

The Bishop’s Charter for Catholic Education expresses the heart of Catholic education in the Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes — a community of faith, learning, and transformation, founded upon Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

It calls our schools to be beacons of hope, nurturing the whole person — mind, heart, and spirit — and guiding every child toward a life of purpose, love, and service.

Our Commitment at St Carlo’s

  • Be Communities of Belonging
Every child is valued, respected, and supported to flourish.

  • Foster Commitment to Catholic Life
Through vibrant prayer, liturgy, and social justice.

  • Partner with Families & Parish
Walking alongside parents as the first educators of their children.

  • Nurture a Love of Learning
Inspiring curiosity through dynamic Catholic pedagogy.

  • Share the Joy of the Gospel
Witnessing truth, beauty, and goodness in our community.

Rooted in the Bishop’s Charter, St Carlo’s seeks to form children of faith, integrity, and courage — young people ready to bring Christ’s love to the world.

Yindyamarra – Respect

Yindyamarra” — meaning respect in the Wiradjuri language — reflects the spirit in which we live, learn, and work together at St Carlo’s.

As part of Catholic Education Wilcannia-Forbes, we honour the Traditional Custodians of the lands across our Diocese — from Mutti Mutti in the south to Paakantji in the west, with Wiradjuri Country at its heart.

We are committed to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through truth, respect, and reconciliation, building authentic relationships that enrich our mission of faith and education.

Our Commitment under Yindyamarra

  • Honour Country
Acknowledge and pay deep respect to enduring connections with land, water, and sky.

  • Embed Respect in Learning
Integrate Aboriginal histories, languages, and perspectives across curriculum areas.

  • Build Genuine Partnerships
Work with Aboriginal Education Officers, families, and Elders.

  • Foster Cultural Safety
Ensure belonging and respect for every child and family.

  • Celebrate Identity and Country
Recognise and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in school life.

“By embracing Yindyamarra, we honour the rich heritage of Aboriginal peoples and strengthen our relationships with them, enriching our mission of education and faith.”
