It calls our schools to be beacons of hope, nurturing the whole person — mind, heart, and spirit — and guiding every child toward a life of purpose, love, and service.

Yindyamarra – Respect
“Yindyamarra” — meaning respect in the Wiradjuri language — reflects the spirit in which we live, learn, and work together at St Carlo’s.
As part of Catholic Education Wilcannia-Forbes, we honour the Traditional Custodians of the lands across our Diocese — from Mutti Mutti in the south to Paakantji in the west, with Wiradjuri Country at its heart.
We are committed to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through truth, respect, and reconciliation, building authentic relationships that enrich our mission of faith and education.
Our Commitment under Yindyamarra
Honour Country
Acknowledge and pay deep respect to enduring connections with land, water, and sky.Embed Respect in Learning
Integrate Aboriginal histories, languages, and perspectives across curriculum areas.Build Genuine Partnerships
Work with Aboriginal Education Officers, families, and Elders.Foster Cultural Safety
Ensure belonging and respect for every child and family.Celebrate Identity and Country
Recognise and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in school life.
“By embracing Yindyamarra, we honour the rich heritage of Aboriginal peoples and strengthen our relationships with them, enriching our mission of education and faith.”
